Relying on Thugs for Protection

It would be pretty much impossible to determine this accurately, but it would be nice to know how many people have died in the U.S. as a result of them being taught for all of their lives to “call the authorities” if something bad is happening, instead of “taking the law into their own hands.”

I think of that every time some fascist-apologist ignorantly proclaims that those of us who advocate actual freedom would “be the first to call the cops” if something bad was happening. Um, no I wouldn’t. Nor would most of the people I know.

Aside from the inherent immorality of what “law enforcement” is, if on a practical level you rely on thugs of the state to protect you, or your family, or your neighbors, you are making a huge mistake. I suspect it has been a fatal mistake for many thousands of people.
