Freedom Cells – Networks For A Free Society

Similar to a mutual aid or benefit society, a Freedom Cell is a network of individuals who share a common understanding of the requirements to bring about a free society. The purpose is to work together and bring those requirements into reality in their own lives and the communities in which they live.

From the Freedom Cell Network:

“Freedom Cells are peer to peer groups organizing themselves in a decentralized manner with the collective goal of asserting the sovereignty of group members through peaceful resistance and the creation of alternative institutions.”

The concept of a Freedom Cell is something I’ve been planning and starting to create in my local area, Salt Lake City, UT.

I’m reaching out with the Truth, Freedom, Prosperity – Salt Lake City (TFP SLC) to establish a core network of individuals. I’ll touch on some concepts here which I feel can act as a strong foothold to bring this forward.

If you’re interested in joining the TFP -SLC, contact me here to get started. Even if you will be starting your own freedom cell, we can still work together in the Salt Lake Freedom Hive which can be used as a central hub for the local freedom cells to collaborate when necessary.

If you are in the local area and have ongoing projects or future projects which are related to the activities of the Salt Lake Freedom Hive, please contact me and we can start to organize.

“You never change things by fighting the existing reality. To change something, build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete.”
― R. Buckminster Fuller

My personal interest in this concept has lead me to this point. To the point of having a launch pad for which I can start to see some of these concepts manifest themselves in my life and the community around me.

However, this is not a rally cry to convert the masses to “our movement” or start a meetup group to protest at capitol hill once a year. Far from being a social club, the Freedom Cell concept is for individuals who have already gone through the process of freeing themselves mentally from the controls of the state. Seeking to incorporate real world solutions which I’ll help to identify in this article.

To decentralize down to the individual level. The aim of the Freedom Cell is to empower individuals and provide support for this newly found freedom.

The goal is to make the state irrelevant. Ultimately, we can prove that voluntary exchange among consenting individuals is superior to the force of the state.

I’ll be honest, working in groups, especially large groups, makes me cringe. I prefer to work alone and find that autodidactism is the most empowering way of learning and taking on new projects in life.

However, there are structures of working groups that I do see as valuable. Small groups, very small, under ten people preferably. If the freedom cell grows beyond this, it can then divide and spawn a new group. These groups can work together when necessary, but in order to keep the groups small, they can continue dividing as necessary.

Bob Podolsky, a founding member of Titania, a “non hierarchical society dedicated to peace, love and truth; through ethics and creativity and utilizing the organizational principles” promotes this small groups concept.

The concept Bob and his team uses is an Octolog (a group of 8) in a decentralized structure, a Holomat (holotropic matrix). This way of organizing is decentralized, non-hierarchical, completely voluntary and has no leader or someone with more control or power than anyone else in the structure.

Check out this interview with Bob by Jeff Berwick: Anarchast Ep.239 Bob Podolsky: Ethics and the Titania Project!

Find more here on Octologues and Holomats here. I’ve listed some explanation below:

An Octologue is a small group of people (typically 8) who have undertaken to act together on a voluntary basis for the pursuit of an ethical purpose. Such a group makes unanimous decisions and also acts as a mutual feedback hub, whereby the members share their perceptions of one another in a very personal and intimate manner.

A HoloMat (generic term) is a group of Octologues joined by an ethical contract to serve a shared purpose. A HoloMat may consist of any number of Octologues.

The HOLOMAT is an online hub and resource center for many HoloMats to communicate with one another and to coordinate related activities for mutual advantage. When built, the HOLOMAT website/application will facilitate many kinds of interactions between individuals, Octologues, and HoloMats, and will provide for a wide range of memberships tailored to the needs of the individual or group. It will also act as a mechanism whereby individuals and groups will be able to find one another – e.g. Octologues seeking people with particular skills, or people looking for Octologues having specific purposes.

If we are to succeed in decentralizing down to the individual, this way of building the foundation of the structure is absolutely required. We cannot build societies based on the violence and slavery of the state and expect not to get violence and slavery in return. Only individuals who understands their rights and their sovereignty can create free society.

Within these small cells, basic skills for working in this type of structure can be shared amongst individuals. We will be archiving this information here in the Freedom Hive along the way. We will document our journey and struggles with this projects and help to empower future freedom minded individuals. We can blaze the pathway for new generations to have a stronger foothold to climb the mountain towards a free society.

I would like to get 8 to 10 members together all working on projects that the groups agrees to. Once more people come along to join us, we will encourage them to start their own Freedom Cell and we will collaborate when necessary.

This keeps the groups small and focused rather than bloated and confused. If the cells need to work together on larger goals, then they can do so when necessary. Otherwise, weekly or monthly meetings should be held only by the core 8-10 members to focus on next steps in projects and future goals.

The Salt Lake Freedom Hive plans to begin working with other members on these concepts. I’m excited for this next chapter in my own journey towards more personal freedom.

A few examples of upcoming projects at TFP – SLC:

  • Used in case of particular emergencies
  • Skill sharing
  • Unschooling meetup and support network’s
  • Food Storage awareness and preparation

Voluntaryism – Don’t Tread On Anyone

This article was originally posted @ the Salt Lake Freedom Hive.

If free people do nothing to fight for the freedom of everyone, then all will soon be enslaved. If those with even a modicum of freedom do not fight for every last inch they can gain back from the perilous grasp of tyranny, then tyranny will reign over all.

“Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conquered; yet we have this consolation with us, that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph”

~ Thomas Paine, The American Crisis

Voluntaryists are those who are practicing the principles of non-aggression. Voluntaryism holds that all forms of human association should be voluntary.

Those practicing voluntaryism seek to interact with others only by mutual consent or not at all. Voluntaryism does not dictate specific actions to take, only that they are non-violent, non-coercive actions towards others.

It may be easier to define voluntaryist apophatically, by saying what they are not. They are not individuals who use or advocate the right to use violence against others. Meaning voluntaryist recognize that through your actions, you do not have the right to initiate force against another person or their property. Also, since one does not hold this right, they cannot delegate this right to any person or group of people properly. The initiation of force is always wrong, at all times and places everywhere in the universe.

This concept is known as the Non-Aggression Principle (NAP), considered to be a primary tenet of voluntaryism. The NAP is the concept that the use of force which brings harm to another person or their property is not a right that anyone holds.

Voluntaryists, however, are not pacifists. While they do respect the fact that you cannot rightfully initiate force, this does not mean that one does not hold the right to defend themselves. A person always has the right to self defense once aggression has been used against them. Once someone initiates aggression, whatever amount of force necessary to put down that aggression is within the victims right to use at that point.

“No one may threaten or commit violence (‘aggress’) against another man’s person or property. Violence may be employed only against the man who commits such violence; that is, only defensively against the aggressive violence of another. In short, no violence may be employed against a nonaggressor. Here is the fundamental rule from which can be deduced the entire corpus of libertarian theory.”

~Murray Rothbard. Cited from “War, Peace, and the State”

The use and initiation of force is always wrong, even though it occurs ubiquitously throughout governments and the institutions of control which are in place and have been in place for thousands of years. This form of violence is the most wide spread form of violence that exists in our world.

The wars, gang killings, terrorist bombings, mass shootings and so on do not account for the main sources of violence in our world. It is much more insidious than this. It is ignorance of the NAP by governments, mainly against their own citizens, which is the most prominent form of violence in our world. This tyranny of the mind, as well as the physical coercive aggression, amounts to a type of psychological aggression against one’s whole being, which is being attacked on every level of the spectrum.

We only need to look at the statistics of democide, the killing of people by their own governments, in the 20th century alone to see evidence of just some of the violence governments use on their own people.

“Human sickness is so severe that few can bear to look at it…but those who do will become well.”
~Vernon Howard

Again, violation of the NAP does not only occur through murder, but is mainly done through the coercive force of the state on all citizens within their boarders. In addition to this are the egregious foreign policy endeavors carried out on people all over the world by governments claiming to be conquering one evil or another, while leaving absolute destruction and chaos in their wake.

You cannot properly delegate the right to initiate force to a government, because you do not have this right to begin with. There is no possible way to grant a right that you don’t have initially. You must have the right to initiate force in order to grant this right to governments, but you do not have this right. Therefore it is absolutely impossible to make the wrongness of initiating force into a right. Each and every person pretending they hold this right and then choose to act on this false belief can only manifest harm and chaos into reality.

“In debates between anarchists and statistis, the burden of proof clearly should rest on those who place their trust in the state. Anarchy’s mayhem is wholly conjectural; the state’s mayhem is undeniably, factually horrendous.”
~ Robert Higgs

When the majority of people are acting on a false belief system that does not align with reality, the overall conditions that will be present are those of pain and suffering. When people who do not understand the difference between right and wrong continue to remain in ignorance they can be controlled externally through their own imbalances being exploited.

Their fear and ignorance brings about the external forms of government that we see as the current condition of society. When a society is based in ignorance, fear, self-loathing, and internal imbalance, external government will reign in tyrannical fashion. There is an inescapable conclusion that can be drawn when one realizes what condition the current aggregate of humanity finds itself in.

The Voluntaryist, a publication founded in 1982, promotes voluntaryism as nonviolent resistance and a method of civil disobedience:

“Voluntaryists are advocates of non-political, non-violent strategies to achieve a free society. We reject electoral politics, in theory and in practice, as incompatible with libertarian principles. Governments must cloak their actions in an aura of moral legitimacy in order to sustain their power, and political methods invariably strengthen that legitimacy. Voluntaryists seek instead to delegitimize the State through education, and we advocate withdrawal of the cooperation and tacit consent on which State power ultimately depends.”

Voluntaryists are not just libertarians, they are libertarian anarchists. They do not support the existence of the state and do not hold that limited forms of government should exist because all forms of external governance are based in fear, control, ignorance and a violation of the NAP.

Let’s look at the etymology of the word Voluntary:

From Middle English *voluntarie, from Old French volontaire, from Latin voluntārius ‎(willing, of free will), from voluntās ‎(will, choice, desire), from volēns, present participle of velle ‎(to will).

Encompassed with in the word voluntaryist is this concept of free will. The capacity to act on one’s free will does not guarantee the agent of those actions will act in alignment with what is right. It does, however, recognize that the individual does maintain the right to act freely and can use their own will to take these actions.

Using the knowledge one gains from studying Libertarian philosophy, Natural Law, morality, and/or simply recognizing the basic underpinnings of nature itself, one can convert this knowledge into action voluntarily. Action based on knowledge gained is the synthesis of understanding and is what true wisdom is.

Dismantling the statist matrix is a project which can never rest in the presence of tyranny. Voluntaryist are the flaming torch of truth in the presence of lies. The agents of change have zero tolerance for the lie of the state. When we act in truth, virtue and principles, the alliance formed with the forces of nature cannot be discounted. The seeds of destruction are sown within the foundations of evil. Evil is the great opposer of reality, of truth – of that which is and that which cannot be destroyed.

A human being who understands their sovereignty and embodies this understanding by willfully deploying this knowledge through their actions cannot be enslaved.

The word Sovereign is derived from the Latin adverb super “above” And the Latin noun regnum: “rulership: control”. Thus Sovereign means “one who is above the rulership or control of another”. Sovereign means not a subject or a slave.

The one who understands they are sovereign, the one who is above the rulership or control of another, does not recognize using the political system as a vehicle for change because the political system operates through the control of people and their resources.

This external ruler always makes claims of ownership on “citizens” through mechanisms of taxation, regulation, and law enforcement of human “legislation”. These are all false claims which violate the laws of nature and are only constructs in the human mind. They are not legitimate claims just because the vast majority of people believe them to be so.

Voluntaryist, through using concepts of non-violent action such as Agorism, Counter-economics, political noncooperation, and methods of non-violent protest and persuasion are acting on the knowledge and understanding they have gained.

Again, acting on the knowledge we have acquired is what is known as wisdom. This is the process of consciously using will power to bring one’s thoughts, emotions, and actions into alignment in an effort to make a positive change in one’s own life and in the life of others.

“I have been impressed with the urgency of doing. Knowing is not enough. We must apply. Being willing is not enough. We must do.”
~ Leonardo da Vinci

Using discernment on which actions to take and which fellow voluntaryist to network with is important. I do not discount the advantage of working alone as an anarchist. However, systems of agorism through anarchists taking action which will likely involve other people is something we have to recognize as a powerful movement.

Where can we begin to act on our understanding, on the knowledge we have gained?

It’s something that each person can take and ponder on as to where they can expand to incorporate more voluntaryism into their own lives. By practicing the principles of non-violence, peaceful parenting, the NAP, voluntaryism, and acting in freedom whenever and wherever we possibly can.

“I have often said that if one takes care of the means, the end will take care of itself. Non-violence is the means, the end for everyone is complete independence.”
~ Mahatma Gandhi

The author and voluntaryist, Gene Sharp in his first book of the series, The Policts of Nonviolent Action, lays out six major nonviolent techniques which each have subcategories. I’ll only list the main topic points here.

 His major divisions are:
1) the methods of non-violent protest and persuasion
2) the methods of social non-cooperation; two methods of economic noncooperation
3) the economic boycott
4) the strike
5) the methods of political noncooperation
6)  the methods of nonviolent intervention.

This list is obviously not all-inclusive. The possibilities for actions someone can take which are non-violent and help to promote the voluntaryist philosophy are endless. It is in our use of the word “NO” where we find the most power and can most clearly define what voluntarysim is. You can see in the above list that we can refuse to perform certain actions and thus take our power back and be very effective.

Most people already intend to practice voluntaryism in their relations with other people. However, the indoctrination of statism and the authoritarian model in general has skewed peoples understanding of their rights. We fail to see the cognitive dissonance and outright ignorance operating throughout societies and the majority of individuals within them.

In order to remain consistent, and in order to oppose the immorality of the state, the voluntaryist must stand in principles which have been discovered through the empirical evidence and knowledge gained through study.

Freedom can only exist when the people understand and live according to Natural Law principles. True freedom cannot exist in a civilization that enshrines moral relativity.

If the pursuit of a free society is not based on the philosophical underpinnings of the universal principles of nature, the pursuit will fail. As this pursuit fails, the doorway to tyranny and more and more globalization of governance is left wide open.

If a person does not understand the objective difference between right and wrong, and thus chooses to act only for what is good for them in the moment, or what is “legal”, then that person will ultimately bring pain and suffering to themselves and others. Multiply these behaviors to extend to the majority of people living in a particular society, and you have a society which cannot be based in principles of freedom. It will ultimately descend into tyranny over the people in conditions of slavery.

That in our personal lives we respect the NAP, yet fail to extend this principle beyond our front door, is where we find the work to be done. To educate our fellow humans into understanding that they are bringing harm to themselves and others through their behavior.

Through the false belief system of statism, the person that does not realize their actions are causing harm is likely not intending to cause harm directly. However, good intentions are not enough and we all know which road those good intentions are paving a path to.

Voluntaryism seeks to dismantle the false belief system of the statist. The belief that some people have the right to use aggression against others. It is the belief that one can properly delegate a right that they do not have themselves, such as the right to enforce mandatory taxation. This is a right that no one person holds yet somehow they imagine they can delegate this right to a gang of people called “government”.

“If the natural tendencies of mankind are so bad that it is not safe to permit people to be free, how is it that the tendencies of these organizers are always good? Do not the legislators and their appointed agents also belong to the human race? Or do they believe that they themselves are made of a finer clay than the rest of mankind?”

Agorism – Solution Oriented Action

This article was originally posted @ the Salt Lake Freedom Hive.

The concept of Agorism is one of the many concepts that will be discussed often here in the Freedom Hive. Not only discussed, but practiced and promoted with the hope of inspiring others to adopt the ideas of Agorism and counter-economics.

While researching human control systems that attempt to enslave and control people advertently or inadvertently, I’ve come across one of those systems and spent a large amount of time researching it, the Federal Reserve System. This is the current monetary system in place, not only in the United States, but the same system has been setup all over the world.

A lot of my research on the topic of the Federal Reserve System has been tracked in my WebBrain, The Creature of Control.

I’ve also compiled a lot of data on the Fed on a Facebook page I manage End The Federal Reserve – End Slavery.

It did not take long in my research to find that the Federal Reserve System is directly opposed to the philosophy of freedom and the main purpose of the Fed is to enslave human beings to endless debt and a monetary unit (the Federal Reserve note) that is based on no actual value.

For those who are not familiar with the Federal Reserve System and how it works, I would recommend starting with the book by the great researcher and activist, G. Edward Griffin of, The Creature from Jekyll Island.

For those who like a video format, a good starting point would be a video produced by another great researcher, journalist, podcaster, activist, James Corbett of, Century of Enslavement: The History of the Federal Reserve System.

With the understanding that the Federal Reserve is a system of human enslavement based in coercion and control over human beings, one has to eventually come to the thought, “what can I do about this?”.

Introducing: Agorism

Among other solutions that can be found (and they can be found), the idea of Agorism is one that has sparked my interest in a big way.

What is Agorism?

The Wikipedia definition tells us:

“Agorism is a libertarian social philosophy that advocates creating a society in which all relations between people are voluntary exchanges by means of counter-economics, thus engaging in a manner with aspects of peaceful revolution. It was first proposed by libertarian philosopher Samuel Edward Konkin III in 1975, with contributions partly by J. Neil Schulman.”

I don’t like to heavily rely on Wikipedia being the ultimate authority for defining everything and presenting an accurate historical view. However, they do a decent job providing a definition for us here.

We can look to Konkin, the creator of the concept of Agorism, from his book “An Agorist Primer”:

“Agorism can be defined simply: it is thought and action consistent with freedom. The moment one deals with “thinking,” “acting,” “consistency,” and especially “freedom,” things get more and more complex…..”

“…..Reality is our standard. Nature is our lawgiver. In a general sense, agorism is scientific in that it bases itself on verifiable observations about reality.”

Konkin Continues:

“Agorism is the consistent integration of libertarian theory with counter-economic practice; an agorist is one who acts consistently for freedom and in freedom”

For anyone serious about Agorism and ending the Federal Reserve human slavery system, I would recommend reading the full text of “An Agorist Primer” which can easily be found online and there are many audiobook versions available.

Also, Back again to our friend, James Corbett for a great podcast episode on Agorism:

The Corbett Report: Episode 309 – Solutions: Agorism

For more information on the specifics of Agorism, please check out this external link (not my website):

Back to Konkin, he dropped a clue in the brief clips I used from his book , “Agorism is the consistent integration of libertarian theory with counter-economic practice”.

We can use Wikipedia here again for a basic definition of Counter-economics.

“Counter-economics is a term originally used by Samuel Edward Konkin III and J. Neil Schulman, libertarian activists and theorists. Konkin defined it as “the study or practice of all peaceful human action which is forbidden by the State.” The term is short for “counter-establishment economics” and may also be referred to as counter-politics. Counter-economics was integrated by Schulman into Konkin’s doctrine of Agorism.”

This idea of Agorism using counter-economic measures is not only a solution which people can start adopting (and are already), but this concept also falls in-line with the supporting and expanding individual human freedoms. It supports the Non-Aggression Principle, Voluntaryism, and if adopted widely can bring about a peaceful society in which people can choose to voluntarily interact with others without the enslaving overhead of systems like the Federal Reserve and the coercive force of the state.

These ideas can seem extreme and unfounded to someone who has not spent time grasping the uncomfortable position that humanity finds itself in. Monetary systems designed on human slavery, government which use coercion with the threat of violence to control their “citizens”, mind controlled masses who refuse to face the reality around them and continue to participate in their own enslavement.

However, one who does understand the world around them and how it’s operating undoubtedly seek solutions that they themselves can participate in.

There is no “one size fits all” path that each person can take to start integrating these solutions. However, our decentralized action toward the common goal of seeking truth, freedom, and prosperity, will all unfold into an avalanche that chokes the state and the immoral institutions like the Federal Reserve System.

One way we start to integrate this concept is by building Agoras on a local level. Starting with others in your community and teaching, sharing, and acting on counter-economic activities. We can find others integrating this such as activist Derrick Broze with The Conscious Resistance.

Check out Derrick’s video on building Freedom Cells, 10 Tips For Building a Freedom Cell.

I will explore Freedom Cells further in an upcoming article on the topic. The Salt Lake Freedom Hive itself is a form of this concept.

Here is another site which I’ve signed up on and you can join me there: The Freedom Cell Network. Which is powered by the Community Connector.

What the Freedom Cells website has to say about Freedom Cells:

“Freedom Cells are peer to peer groups organizing themselves in a decentralized manner with the collective goal of asserting the sovereignty of group members through peaceful resistance and the creation of alternative institutions.”

The Freedom Hive – Truth, Freedom, Prosperity.

This article was originally posted @ the Salt Lake Freedom Hive.

Welcome to The Freedom Hive. This article is an introduction to The Freedom Hive blog series here at I will be posting articles to this blog from my local community blog, The Salt Lake Freedom Hive, as well as original content created exclusively for EVC. The concepts discussed at will provide education and support for engaging in the real world solutions of Voluntaryism, Agorism, Personal and Community Gardening, Permaculture, Home Schooling/Unschooling, Peaceful Parenting and respecting the Non-Aggression Principle.

I’ve perceived a need for an action oriented community in my local area. One in which people can come to find solutions that can be incorporated into their lives, and they can then participate in the learning, integrating, and teaching processes that we all have to offer depending at what stage we are at in moving toward more personal freedom in our lives and the lives of our friends and family.

The solutions to the the problems we all face in this world are not always easy to recognize, but they are out there. Most of us are heavily manipulated since birth, and the indoctrination of statism, authoritarian models, social Darwinism, moral relativism and a society which is continuously traumatized through fear based propaganda. These factors are all obfuscating the real issues. Unfortunately, those who seek to plunder human power, productivity, and the amazing creative force that each of us holds are working around the clock on the systems set up to enslave all of us and all future generations.

“There is no proper role for tyranny in the lives of people. As soon as you yield to the forces of compulsion in the name of life, you have lost your life, for it belongs to those who control you. Life is liberty. Without liberty, your life belongs to another. Liberty is to be defended at all costs and at all times.”

~ Jeremy Locke – The End Of All Evil

The End of All Evil - 2

Those who have foregone ignorance of the negative conditions that we face, in an effort to ultimately better themselves and rise in consciousness, are empowered to make a decision to act on the knowledge they have gained. This action on knowledge gained is true wisdom. Action based on what one knows is true. To know and not to act is really not to know and not to care.

We can no longer ignore the enslaving forces within our systems of society, as well as the enslaving forces within each individual which cause them to bring about these conditions. The conditions which absolutely oppose liberty, freedom, and truth.

The Freedom Hive is a grassroots community built to spread and integrate the message of Freedom. Launched to network with individuals that are looking for a way to actively participate in building a community of like minded people who are establishing the foundations of freedom for themselves and working on spreading the message to others.

The information provided here will assist in raising consciousness by bringing awareness to the concepts which support a free society. One based in respecting the non-aggression principle and voluntary interactions between people. These concepts are directly opposed to the current condition, statism.

In order to bring about the conditions of a free society, we have to break down the old paradigm of statism (violence and slavery), and embrace a world of real freedom and prosperity. This can be difficult for someone who does not even understand that the current condition of statism is violence and slavery. Healing this worldview is something that ultimately has to start from the individual. The spark of true care has to be born within that individual in order for them to start the process of breaking down fear, and moving into love.

Many people feel overwhelmed when they begin to lift the vale that has been pulled over their eyes. This blindness is kept in place not only by our own fear and ignorance, but firmly fitted and tied initially through an onslaught of indoctrination, lies, coercion, propaganda, and manipulation.

When the blindfold does come off, feelings of frustration, aggression, depression, helplessness, and complete and utter discontent are bound to ensue. This can be especially difficult when people within the society around you seem to care less about the atrocities of the State and the manifested conditions of slavery all around them.

“There are two ways to be fooled. One is to believe what isn’t true; the other is to refuse to believe what is true.”

~ Søren Kierkegaard

There are ways to operate in the world and organize communities that work to bring about conditions of freedom. Many things can be done personally, individually, without having to even work within a group or with other people whatsoever. However, working with others on the common goal of a free society is an integral part of establishing the new systems and building the foundations.

A list of solutions that I feel can be acted on in order to bring about grassroots solutions for real and positive change:

  • Positive Thinking
  • Develop Mindfulness and True Present Moment Awareness
  • Detach From The Monetary System
  • A Positive Change in Diet
  • Change the Quality of Attention
  • Heal Worldview
  • Help Others to Awaken
  • Peaceful Parenting
  • Practice and Promote Voluntary Interaction with Others
  • Respect the Non-Aggression Principle

One concept, among many, which can be utilized for learning about a free society based in voluntary interaction between people rather than once based on force and aggression is Agorism.

An article I’ve written on the topic of Agorism: Agorism – Solution Oriented Action.

Agorism comes from the Greek word “agora,” referring to an open place for assembly and market in ancient Greek city-states. The concept uses the mechanism of Counter-economics. The term Agorism was conceived by SEK3 and used to impart Libertarian philosophy in political terms.

SEK3, or Samual Edward Konkin III, says about counter-economics that it is “the study or practice of all peaceful human action which is forbidden by the State.”

From a Pamplet put out by Konkin, Counter-Economics, we can find this excerpt:

“The Counter-Economy is the sum of all non-aggressive Human Action which is forbidden by the State. Counter-economics is the study of the Counter-Economy and its practices. The Counter-Economy includes the free market, the Black Market, the “underground economy,” all acts of civil and social disobedience, all acts of forbidden association (sexual, racial, cross-religious), and anything else the State, at any place or time, chooses to prohibit, control, regulate, tax, or tariff. The Counter-Economy excludes all State-approved action (the “White Market”) and the Red Market (violence and theft not approved by the State).”

A counter economy with a basis in the non-aggression principle which has a goal of bringing about a free and voluntary society is basically the definition of Agorism.

  • Peaceful Parenting

Statism starts at home. Through practicing peaceful parenting we can immediately effect positive change by adapting a new value system and passing this new value system to the next generation. With the understanding that statism directly opposes the Non-Aggression Principle (NAP), that it is not within someones right to initiate violence on others who do not consent. That the fundamental concept of statism is inherently flawed. That no one can properly delegate a right that they do not have to someone else or a group of other people and make it a right. Basically, teaching our children the real difference between right and wrong, and practicing these realities ourselves as examples.

By respecting the NAP and giving that respect to our children, we are practicing the concept of Peaceful Parenting. This instills the principles of self-ownership and the basic difference between right and wrong at an early age, which children intuitively understand already.

However, it gives confusing mixed signals if we initiate violence on our children while also trying to teach them the difference between right and wrong. The child is confused by a parent who explains that it’s not okay to hit, but then has a parent who hits them as a punishment. Peaceful parenting helps us use logic and reason with our child, and teach them how that process works. This concept falls directly in place with Voluntaryism and establishing a free society.

This does not mean that there are not rules, but rather that as parents, we are not “rulers” over our children. It is giving your child the respect that they own their own body, and no one can initiate aggression upon their property, this is always wrong.

  • Change Diet

Along with peaceful parenting, a positive change in diet is something that we can still control. Luckily, we can still make decisions which benefit our health by using discernment in the foods we choose to eat, where the food comes from, how it got to the market, and what quality of nutrition the food contains. We can choose not to buy foods that are filled with toxic chemicals and avoid supporting companies that use unsustainable practices when producing the food.

For me personally, addressing my health and the quality of food and water I was consuming massively changed the way I felt and looked at the world and led to so many beautiful things in my life. I highly recommend anyone who has not addressed this area in their own lives, starts with a positive change in their diet and don’t ever stop taking the best possible care of your body as possible. More to come on this topic in future content produced by the Freedom Hive.

  • Detach From Monetary System

The use of the current monetary system, the Federal Reserve System, is something that each of us has a certain level of control over. One can spend time understanding how this monetary system works and quickly find that this is an immoral institution of human slavery that is among us and effecting each and every one of our lives very directly.

Fortunately, there are many things that we can start doing to detach from this current monetary system, and build completely new forms of exchange. Systems which adhere to the NAP, Voluntarysim, and a free society in which people refuse to participate in systems of coercion, theft, and violence.

“It is well enough that people of the nation do not understand our banking and monetary system, for if they did, I believe there would be a revolution before tomorrow morning.”

~ Henry Ford

To begin addressing this problem, some may be able to pull there money out of big banks and use smaller credit unions, thus reducing the amount of funds the bigger banks have to operate. Others may choose to stay out or get out of debt and stop using debt as a means of purchasing things they may or may not even need. Some may choose to become active and spread information about the Federal Reserve to help awaken others to our condition. While others may start creating or use existing alternative currencies which are not within the control of the current banking cartel monopoly.

Cryptocurrencies, Decentralized Currencies, Community Currencies, are all currently existing models of alternative currencies that could be deployed through the practice of Agorism and truly start making a massive impact. We will discuss these concepts here at the Freedom Hive. I’m not saying that the alternative currencies I mentioned are the definitive solutions to the current condition. However, I feel they are a bridge which we can start using while new concepts are formed and developed.

  • Practice and Promote Voluntary Interaction with Others.

The purpose of creating the Freedom Hive is to practice and promote voluntary interactions with others. Again, it is important to remember that the reason why people are labeling themselves as “anarchist”, “voluntaryist”, “liberitarian”, “minarchist” and so on is to definitively differentiate themselves from the stance held by the vast overwhelming majority of humanity, statist.

Opposing statism is not just an alternative view in the cesspool of “Left vs Right” politics. Voluntaryism and statism are directly opposed.

The fundamental design of the Government is to operate using coercion with the threat and use of violence, forcing people to obey its commands. By creating rights that do not exist and cannot be believed into existence regardless of how many people hold the same belief, the state permits itself to use violence against peaceful people. When governments violate the non-aggression principle, it is still wrong. Governments are not magically exempt from this basic principle. You cannot properly delegate a right that you do not hold, the right to commit violence, to someone else or a group of other people called “authority” and somehow make it into a right.

  • Change the Quality of Attention

Through changing the quality of our attention and developing true present moment awareness, we can strengthen the imagination for what kind of change is possible and bring this into physical manifestation.

When those who understand that they are truly sovereign beings align their thoughts, emotions, and actions, we can become powerful forces for positive change.

By standing in Natural Law principles, the inherent laws of the universe which bind us, we can actually become truly free. It is through ignoring this information and living in fear that we cause harm and continue to bring suffering to ourselves and others.

“The liberty of man consists solely in this, that he obeys the laws of nature because he has himself recognized them as such, and not because they have been imposed upon him externally by any foreign will whatsoever, human or divine, collective or individual.”

  ~ Mikhail Bakunin

  • Help To Awaken Others

When we’ve developed true care and start to embrace truth, love and freedom in our lives we can use our actions to help awaken others. The great work is to recognize that the vast overwhelming majority of humanity is in a state of mental somnolence. That even if we’ve worked to awaken ourselves and free ourselves from mental and physical slavery, still most of the people around us have not started the process and are manifesting pain and suffering for all of us as a result of their ignorance.

People ultimately have to begin to care enough to change and to awaken. We cannot force them to start this process. However, once someone does start that process, we can be available to them with information and solutions. We can be an example by the way we live our lives to others who are beginning the journey to a life of true freedom.

This site will be used to bring together people, bring forward ideas, create tools, blaze pathways, and continue to put out the message of Freedom. I’m interested in making new connections, interviewing unique and inspiring guests and explore all the different possibilities available to us in this amazing time. I’m looking forward to going on this journey and working with all those who participate.
