On Equal Rights

Many a pundit and protestor demand equal rights for their various interested groups. I applaud and support such efforts on the basis that I too demand equal rights, for everyone. Where they misstep, I believe, is in their failure to distinguish groups from individuals. In the hue and cry for, say, transgender rights, most seem to forget or disregard that each transgender person is first an individual. As such, the greatest violators of their individual rights are not bigots and haters, or even businesses who refuse to accommodate their preferences. Can you guess of whom I am speaking? That’s right: the state, or people who call themselves “government“. Anybody demanding equal rights should first and foremost be a radical anarchist in their ideology, but alas most are not. Why is that? And that’s today’s two cents.
