Harms No Other

Writes Free Your Kids:

I do not drink raw milk. Perhaps it is delicious. I don’t like cow’s milk in general, though. But that raw milk is illegal in many states is ridiculous.

I don’t smoke cannabis. I don’t especially care for it. But if you enjoy it, you should be allowed to consume it anyway you choose. Prohibition is absurd.

I do not want another wife. One is more than enough – AHEM! But if you wish to marry more than one person, if you wish to have two wives or three husbands (all equally consenting, of course), it does no injury to me, or anyone else. The State should have no say in your personal relationships.

If your actions are bringing no harm to another, no one should be able to force you to desist. No victim, no crime. In a truly free society, no one would be made a criminal for engaging in victim-less behavior.

So, if you want to lounge in bed with a pitcher of chilled raw milk and a platter of warm pot brownies on your end table, while your three husbands rub essential oils into your aching feet, you should be free to do so. That the State criminalizes these victim-less activities is an abomination. You should be able to do what you wish as long as it harms no other.

Amen, and amen.
