All the CON-stitution refers to is “the establishment of postal roads.” Any constitutional argument (even setting aside Spooner’s revelations) in favor of a governmental duty to provide postal service is pure bunk.
Just heard the part of your podcast in which Spooner points out what I did in my previous posting — including the establishment of post offices…though not their perpetual maintenance, or squelching of competition.
lol. that was news to me. i had always believed it was a monopoly due to how its been dealt with since, not just permission to provide the service. de facto albeit unconstitutional monopoly.
As with everything, the pols and black-robed lawyers have elasticized a few simple words — and ultimately meaningless ones, at that.
