Nobody asked but …
If you laid all the educators in the world head to toe, they would never reach a consensus on what was a common core. In the small HBCU (about 2,000 students) where I used to teach Computer Science, you couldn’t even get two professors teaching the same course to come up with a standard syllabus. In fact, the idea that you can somehow limit the concepts that get covered in a course is a ludicrously simple-minded idea. It’s the kind of thing that a politician conjures up (I caught myself before typing “thinks up” — no brains were abused, or used, in such production). It’s the kind of thing that the next politician promises to reform, in a vicious cycle of reform and be reformed..
