Life is needlessly complicated when you believe you need to control other people, since they’ll believe they should control you, too. You’ll probably both take the shortcut of electing someone to do the controlling for you, but the results are the same, if not worse.

On Intellectual Property IV
I heard the claim recently that to use an idea that originated with someone else is to commit a trespass. This begs the question and assumes what proponents of strong intellectual property rights are trying to prove.
Culture, Copying, Victimless Crimes, Your Truth, & Social Media (23m) – Editor’s Break 121
Editor’s Break 121 has Skyler giving his commentary on the following topics: the difficulty in implementing democracy in a culture not ready for it; why saying “stealing intellectual property” is a misleading euphemism; why your government is not so different than Nazi Germany and Soviet Russia; the importance of speaking your truth, right or wrong; the government and market forces pushing social media and other companies to deplatform controversial users; and more.
A Crippling Lack of Imagination and Problem Solving
Here’s one of those (thankfully, rare) long reply posts. Someone had a problem with me not liking socialism/government and responded with a request for answers. So I did what I could.
On Intellectual Property III
The private property convention is meant to reduce conflict over naturally scarce resources. When something is made artificially scarce by government fiat, say when ideas are monopolizable (copyright and patent), it is as if a wrench is thrown into the works of a machine.

On Politics IV
The United States Federal Government currently threatens imprisonment for many behaviors it has deemed criminal but which do not have as a result the violation of any other person’s self-ownership or property rights (ie. victimless).
When V*ting is Archation
It seems to me your “right to v*te”, if there is any such thing, ends where the results of your v*te would be used to violate the life, liberty, or property of any other person.
On Intellectual Property II
Here is further proof that believers in so-called “intellectual property” are trying to fit a round peg into a square hole: an owner of an idea may continue using his idea without ever becoming aware that it has been “stolen”. Try that with a wallet, or a car, or a laptop.
When Feelings Aren’t Right
There are a lot of times when my feelings about something differ from what I know to be right. I admit it. One instance where this happens is that I feel negative about a big influx of people from other countries and other cultures. Which is why I understand where the anti-“illegal immigrant” people are coming from.
