I am a seeker. I just want to see the truth. Whatever it is. Wherever it leads. And the truth I have discovered includes this: Any society based on anything other than zero archation will degrade over time.

Human Smuggling: What If Philanthropists Were in Charge?
Suppose smugglers were pure philanthropists who only wanted to help people reach Europe alive. There’s a clear trade-off between the two goals – the safest routes will also be the most patrolled. So you have to wonder: If philanthropists ran the human smuggling industry, how much lower could fatality rates even fall?
Stop Lying about Laws Applying
I engaged in an instructive Facebook conversation recently. I approached it Socratically at first, but ended it with some food for thought (pun intended). Here it is in full, edited for presentation. The topic is the applicability of government laws as it concerns the food vendor that was robbed by campus police recently.
What’s Wrong with the Thrive/Survive Theory of Left and Right
Many people in my circles now seem to take Thrive/Survive Theory as the default position; if it’s not true, it’s still the story to beat. But to be blunt, I find essentially no value in it. It’s not always wrong, but it’s about as right as you’d expect from chance.
5 Ways Mothers Give Away their Power
This isn’t about convincing anyone to do things my way (how boring a world that would be!). But if you don’t know that you have choices beyond the mainstream world, then you aren’t actually making decisions from a place of truth and desire. You are living on autopilot and not considering the impact of living a life in accordance to the status quo, whose only agenda is to keep you relying on it. So what do I mean by giving away power?
Tickets Kicked Out and Nurse Wubbles’ Experience with Authoritarian Jeff Payne
Another ticket dismissed in California, congrats to Brett and thanks for the proof. As mentioned in the video from the NSP, this dismissal has the added bonus of the motion in Limine being granted.
Why We Need Markets for Justice
Richard Ebeling once told me, “Government makes criminals of us all.” Government sets up society so that no person can live a life without using some sort of government service, paid for through coerced taxes. I later came to realize that government needs to make moral cowards of us all, in order to keep us dependent on it for the dispensation of justice.
Utah Case Highlights Need for Separation of Medicine and Law Enforcement
In July, Salt Lake City detective Jeff Payne violently abducted Alex Wubbels, a nurse at University of Utah Hospital. Most accounts don’t put it that way — they use the word “arrested” instead — but Wubbels was released without charges because Payne’s actions were clearly an extra-legal physical power play by a police officer who was angry at not getting his way.
Kris Gets a Dismissal With Prejudice in Texas
Kris filed the motion to dismiss and discovery/Brady request. The prosecution failed to overcome the motion which is based on a lack of evidence and did not respond to the Brady request. Kris followed up with motions in Limine and to dismiss for prosecutorial misconduct for because the prosecutor was arguing without evidence.
Cognitive Bias #3 — Choice-Supportive
This may be my most egregious bias. I have a great deal of trouble reversing field after a choice of any kind. Reversals only take place after some sort of random collision with reality. We see evidence that I am not alone, scattered throughout my neck of the woods.
