When someone takes on the role of making decisions through government for millions of people, I cease to value their life in itself. Their life is only consequential to the effects of their decisions and the effect their death will have on those decisions.

Trump Has Been Mostly Ineffectual
The election of Trump effected people’s lives in incredibly minor ways. As far as legislation, executive orders, war, and other such stuff … little has been done. He hasn’t commanded change or anything else, despite how effectively he might poke some people in the eye.
Don’t Get Complacent
I feel like a SHTF event is imminent. Notice I don’t say I think it is, rather it’s just a feeling. Possibly triggered by the upcoming election. I don’t have a crystal ball. I’m almost definitely wrong.
Police Hypothesis
Hypothesis 1: Police are constrained by laws enacted by legislatures and upheld by courts. That’s a major reason why laws and court decisions are important in defending a free society.
We Aren’t in Zero-Sum Relationships
We aren’t in zero-sum relationships, we can get what we desire while other people get what they desire. It is people who suffer from the most abuse who often have the worst boundaries and regard for themselves.
Tolerance, Approval are Different Things
There are things I don’t approve of but don’t have the right to stop others from doing. I may tolerate these behaviors for my own peace of mind while doing what I can to protect myself; including self-defense when necessary.
Constricting Social Cooperation
The COVID-19 pandemic and, especially, the actions governments have taken in response to it have been, both directly and indirectly, enormously destructive of life, liberty, and wealth. But another tremendously significant aspect of these terrible events has been the lapse into what we might call ideological insanity on both sides of the lockdown divide.
Consider Stocking Up For Election
Stocking up on food and supplies before the worst part of the forced shutdowns could turn out to have been good practice for what may be coming after the presidential election. Especially considering the new vacancy on the Supreme Court.
Orwellian Othering
As far as I know, intolerant, thin-skinned, anti-intellectual educators have been around for… well, forever. What has changed is the Orwellian nature of their reaction to dissent.
