Authoritarianism

Nobody asked but …

Is there anyone in your life for whom you would sacrifice your life, not dying for her but living for her in her stead?  Is there any group for which you would devote your life without interruption and in perpetuity?  It can’t be done, you say, and you are correct.  Absolute authoritarianism requires two lost individuals and two possessed individuals for every pair of individuals in the system.  But as soon as one person becomes a complete slave to another person (lost and possessed), that other person becomes a complete slave (lost and possessed) to the possession of the first person.  It is mathematically impossible for any entity to be 100% one thing AND 100% another thing.  Therefore it is stunning how many people actually imagine that they may dictate to another person in any way.
