This morning, after a little reflection, I’m more optimistic than ever about the future of liberty. There are so many great companies, organizations, and technologies that enable us to throw off the shackles of the state and its allied institutions.

Talk to, Don’t Provoke, North Korea
There’s little more we can do than hope that some cool heads around Donald Trump are telling him he’d be nuts to attack North Korea. I don’t know who they might be. Still, we must hope.
Police Are Not a Race, They’re a Gang
Police wake up each and every day and make the choice to enforce harmful and arbitrary “laws” against people in exchange for money stolen from their victims. It’s not about the cop as a person, it is about the aggression and theft they commit as a condition of keeping the “job.” But, the fact a person would choose to do that shows something very important about their character.
Police Culture Poisons the Individual
While a good guy could become a cop, the culture poisons the individual. The incentives of government, monopolies, unions and feeling camaraderie with others in the same culture all concentrate themselves into a situation that cops must be immoral and indecent to remain cops.
Cop Supporters Share the Guilt
Cop–all cops–are evil gang scum, not because of who they were born, but because of what they choose to do. That is simply the plain truth. But, it would be a waste to spend all your life worrying about it. Or them. So, I don’t.
Social Norms, Moral Judgments, and Irrational Parenting

Consensual sex is legal. But as soon as one party offers cash to another in exchange for sex and that money is voluntarily accepted, it’s considered prostitution, and that is illegal. This is hypocritical, illogical, and wasteful — and it needs to stop.
Such a Sad Life
Is it really a sad thing to accept the nature of reality and ethical behavior? To understand that theft and aggression are wrong, even if you don’t feel they actually harm you? Even if you deny the acts in question are theft and aggression? I certainly don’t think so.
Creating Millions of Victims Annually
The greatest danger that you face as an American is not terrorism or violent crime or immigration or North Korea or Iran or climate change or loss of medical insurance or any of the other things the media and politicians tell you to fear—it’s your own government and the maliciously evil criminal prosecution system it has created to destroy you.
The Religion of the State
Many objects have been turned into totems, but among the most common are flags, which are emblems signifying an association with a group and a cause taken to be larger than any individual. There’s hardly a need to point out how the flag is venerated in the United States — especially these days.
