They are all the same, in that they believe governing others to be legitimate, but although I have said a statist is a statist, and “left” and “right” are not relevant, there are times it helps to know how the statist sees itself.

It’s a wonderful thing when someone decides to help the community. I might even join them if their efforts align with my values. I’m somewhat less thrilled when someone mistakes running for office, getting a government job, or passing a law for helping. A government position or job is nothing to be proud of. It’s not honorable or praiseworthy. Everything is better without the threat of law or punishment, and when funded voluntarily. Worthwhile ideas don’t require arm twisting.

The Students Being Promoted in the Media
These kids opinions are being marketed as if they are knowledgeable and representative of reality. They aren’t. They represent themselves. Anti-Gun Laws Good for Criminals
Anti-gun laws make criminals safer. “Gun free zones” are gun free only until some evil loser decides to go on a killing spree and chooses a target where he knows he’ll be free to kill. When that happens there are suddenly too few guns; the only guns present being in the wrong hands. This is mandated by law. It makes the killer’s cruel task easier and deadlier, and doesn’t boost the safety of the kids or teachers.

Time flies when you’re having fun, but some things seem never to change. Wars lead to wars. Government leads to more government. Taxes lead to greater taxes. Modes of taxation lead to more and novel modes of taxation. Organized crime leads to organization, crime, and more organized crime.
