Stop Locking People in Cages!

So, the good news from this week is that immigrant families are not being kidnapped, separated, and thrown in cages anymore. They’re just being kidnapped and thrown in cages. But together, so that’s an improvement, I guess. The ludicrous nature of what passes for progress in a fascistic society is on display once again as we’re supposed to consider it a victory that peaceful people now get to go to the gulag as a family unit. Color me unimpressed.

A “Red Flag” for Your Rights; Yes, They’re Coming for Your Guns

The latest scheme from the gun grabbers is called “red flag” laws and, unlike most their other schemes, even nominally conservative pundits and publications are getting on board with this attempt to disarm certain people. President Trump decided to withdraw from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, also known as the Iran Nuclear Agreement, and his critics are enjoying their opportunity to show concern. You can debate whether the deal had any legitimacy, whether it was a good idea, and what breaking the deal means, but you’d be missing the point. Agreements are meaningless to governments.

What Do Liberal Abusers Really Think?

#MeToo’s most notorious alleged sexual predators, Harvey Weinstein and Eric Schneiderman, were also prominent liberals.  Even if both of these figures miraculously turned out to be innocent, there must be plenty of vocally left-wing perpetrators of sexual violence.  My question: What do liberal abusers really think?  What’s actually going on inside their heads?

Funding Higher Education Debate: My Opening Statement

Why should higher education receive government support?  There are two main arguments. The first is the economic argument.  Government support is allegedly economically beneficial not merely for individual students, but for society as a whole. The second is the humanistic argument. Economic effects aside, government support is vital for the promotion of intrinsically valuable ideas, culture, and values.
