Mainstream Media is Not the Solution

While the recent preoccupation with “fake news” is largely intended to silence the alternative media, there is a real (and growing) trend of reporting unproven theories and unsubstantiated claims as facts—often with little or no evidence. This practice is not unique to the alternative media, though. The mainstream media is equally guilty. From satanic cults kidnapping children to WMDs in Iraq to bird flu to Ebola, we are regularly assaulted with fantastical reports designed to frighten us into believing state intervention is necessary and even critical to the survival of the human race. Fake news is a problem. The mainstream media is not the solution.
