In 2016, after a court slapped down the attempts of Kamala Harris (D-CA), then attorney general of her state and now a US Senator, to prosecute Backpage for “pimping,” I suggested that merely dismissing the charges was not enough. I am still of that opinion.

Prisons are Stupid and Wrong
If you lock someone away as a result of an accident that the State has decided was a “crime”, you’ve shut the barn door after the horse ran away. Worse than that, you’ve locked the horse out of the barn and thrown it to the wolves. The horse will either be eaten, or it will become a wolf in order to survive. This is why prisons are actually Criminal University; training facilities to teach the socially rejected how to commit more and worse actual crimes. Prisons are a net negative.
Death Penalty for Drug Dealers? Be Careful What You Wish For, President Trump
As a major league drug dealer, perhaps Trump is taking his cue from the murderous cartels of Colombia and Mexico. Now that he has the entirety of federal law enforcement and the US armed forces at his beck and call, why not just kill his competitors? Pablo Trumpobar, anyone? El Trumpo?
Hooray for Smugglers!
Smuggling. What a funny little non-crime. I can’t even wrap my mind around any possible way it could be wrong. It’s just the act of going around a bully who’s standing in your way, wanting to rob you or prevent you from getting products to those who want them.
Endings, Not in Sight

In Few Words, What is Freedom?
Freedom is beautiful. It’s a warm cup of coffee in the morning, a sunny walk or drive to our preferred destination, an activity engaged in for the sake of interest, and the loving arms of someone who loves and cares about us.
Am I Being Detained?
“Just cause” is a relative concept. It means different things in different contexts. In the context of voluntaryist legal theory (the only logically and ethically valid kind of legal theory, methinks), someone has just cause to temporarily detain another person when that person is in the process of committing a crime.
Give Freedom a Chance
One of the typical responses to criticism of a government policy, program, or other undertaking is the demand for an answer to the question, “What is your alternative?” Often this challenge demands a blueprint or other detailed plan for the alternative to the governmental status quo. Absent such a fully articulated plan, one’s criticism is often dismissed as mere carping by someone who has no idea about how to replace the present government undertaking. My own alternative is simply freedom.
Reproductive Rights, Legalizing Murder, Social Warfare, & Wage Slavery (34m) – Editor’s Break 066
Editor’s Break 066 has Skyler giving his commentary on the following topics: female verse male reproductive rights in a legal context, what would happen in society if murder were legalized, how democracy creates social warfare, the logical sleight of hand performed by people decrying so-called “wage slavery”, and more.
Taxation is…
I remember how I felt the first time I heard it. I was shocked. But then I tried to consider any possible way it might not be true. I never did find any flaws in the reasoning. Taxation IS theft.
