JUUL Heist: Addicts Sue Company for Providing Their Fix
Nitasha Tiku of Wired reports on three lawsuits against JUUL Labs, makers of the JUUL e-cigarette device. The unifying complaint, in brief, is that nicotine is addictive, that the users are addicted, and that their addictions are the company’s fault. There are quite a few problems with these lawsuits.
Free Migration is My Jam
Justin Faber, who I had a chat with on the podcast and has published at EVC, wrote recently, “You: Open borders are incompatible with a welfare state. International Wrecking Ball
The problems of the USA vis NATO are direct consequences of the size, the gross excessiveness, of the PMIC (Politico-Military Industrial Complex). The whole world is captive to this behemoth.
In Defense of Objective Morality

Let’s consider libertarian gun policy objectively, and then we’ll see how Liberland stacks up to this ideal.
Problems with “Authority”
Political “authority” isn’t a real thing. You shouldn’t respect it. But you should realize dunderheads will murder you if they feel you have disrespected their delusional “authority”. Individual beware.
Freedom for the Taking
It is so rare as to be inconceivable that a person’s present condition cannot be traced back to a choice. Nor do I know of any cases of someone accepting total enslavement voluntarily.
Smokey Bear: Enemy Agent
Smokey Bear and his propaganda campaign illustrate the danger of government perfectly. Use a memorable way to promote bad policy. The bad policy then causes damage which makes the original problem worse, which causes people to believe government (and its bad policy) is necessary to protect from the consequences of government policy.
