Senseless Leftist Obstinacy (Vermont Style)

Some neighbors of mine, who “own” around 370 acres of land, are finding it necessary (like many others here in Vermont) to have portions of their property timbered off by loggers in order to raise the necessary capital to pay the property taxes imposed by government – lest that same government should seize their property by force.

Timbering, of course, wrecks a piece of property:  Not only will it take 25-30 years for new trees to replace the ones cut down, but the ancillary cutting necessary to get to copses worth enough on the market to warrant cutting in the first place litters the forest floor for decades after the fact in swaths of destruction.

Yet rest assured that these neighbors remain strong advocates of government, its Marxist school systems and redistribution of wealth, its wholly false promises to protect – rather than ravage – the environment, and its ability to use violent force against anyone who opposes its usurped (not legitimately delegated) authority.  Rest assured they vote at every opportunity for these things – all while lamenting the circumstances they find themselves in.

I stand perpetually amazed at the dogmatic blindness of most human beings.
