Nobody asked but …

A friend theorized that since a War on Drugs seems to produce more Drugs, then maybe we should promote a War on Common Sense to have more Common Sense.  Unfortunately, I don’t think it works that way.  Most publicized Wars on [fill-in-the-blank] are actually wars on those who are afflicted with political gullibility.  On the other hand, there already is a subliminal war on common sense — it is called the state.  Because it is not a double speak war nor is it a public relations war, it actually is detrimental to common sense.  And there are lots of lowercase wars, easily hidden from view by the showy uppercase Wars.  For instance, there is a war on children.
