Have You Read Lysander Spooner Today?

Nobody asked but …

If you were a Christian, this question should be like “have you said your bedtime prayer?”  But if your principles come more from Voluntaryism, you will know and respond to Lysander Spooner.  If you don’t know Lysander Spooner there’s no time like the present.

It has been a part of my principled voluntaryist world view at least throughout the 21st Century.

Nonetheless, the only possible excuses for not keeping The Complete Lysander Spooner in your bedside drawer would be reading Bastiat, Paine, Mencken, Locke, Hayek, Mises, Higgs, or Rothbard.

Spooner wrote, “If any man’s money can be taken by a so-called government, without his own personal consent, all his other rights are taken with it; for with his money the government can, and will, hire soldiers to stand over him, compel him to submit to its arbitrary will, and kill him if he resists.” ~ Lysander Spooner

How about that?  Can you do better?
