Centuries ago people produced to survive. The journey of survival was the motivating factor, but we evolved to be able to produce and find purpose in that production. We felt value as human beings in providing for ourselves and serving the people and values we care about. Today, our production is seemingly more distanced from our survival and the result is purposelessness.

Family is… Forever?
The greatness of family is that you have people who have significant investment in you and an ingrained community. This can offer wonderful support and resources in life. Unfortunately, people often use people’s sense of the indispensability of family as a means of leverage.
Something That Doesn’t Quite Fit Either Role
I am a leader for my family. I introduce my children to the world and show them the values I hold and believe in through my words and actions. I take the role as leader in order to inspire a good relationship between my child and myself, but also to help guide and assist them in discovering the world and their place within it.
Authority Easily Leads to Abuse
This was a shitty circumstance. It isn’t “fair” that it happened. However, this happens with most teachers, and most people in places of unquestioned authority. In fact, the situation that occurred in college was a situation I had vastly more leverage than in previous similar situations.
How Does Our Demeanor Affect Our Experiences?
We are often told by some women that women (in general) have a unique and crumby experience in the world. Men are constantly ogling them, making inappropriate remarks, sexualizing them, and just generally being creepy. We are told that this is the nature of being a women, or at least a somewhat attractive women. This is bullshit.
When Control is Your Predominant Motivation
Most humans have no desire for people to be independent. They only want them to be independent once they share their values. This perpetuates an individual’s power over someone and perpetuates a person’s views and culture. There are examples of this all over our culture.
Having a Certain Type of Indifference Toward People
One thing I dislike about identity is that everyone wants to take up the reigns of identifying it. Being raised by me, my son would feel no hesitation or shame in being gay or liking traditional feminine things … however, one of the issues I am incredibly irritated by in our society is the increasing trend to shit on preferences that do fit within traditionally considered gender roles.
Science Love Hurts Scientific Progress
Once we escape the romanticized view of science, everything gets vastly worse. There are incredibly corrupt incentives that encourage fraud, abuse, and horrible work to be done at every step of the process.
On the Harvey Weinstein Scandal
I have two daughters and there is a good chance I will have more. I imagined what I would tell them about it if they were 8-14ish. I realized that my reaction would be different and I would desire to relay different information than most people. So I thought I might share some of what I might say.
