You and I are constantly told we should “leave it to the professionals.” We are presumed too incompetent to do it ourselves and are told we need to pay someone to do it for us, so we don’t get hurt. Except… there is one profession that if we choose to hire a professional practitioner, we could be “arrested.” In this case, we are told we must only use amateurs and shouldn’t hire a professional.

Tribalism and Economic Nationalism – Cut from the Same Cloth
Why would anyone underestimate the benefits of interacting with foreigners? It might be because they are, well, foreign. Combine this bias with an ignorance of Adam Smith’s “invisible hand” (spontaneous order) and a suspicion that exchange is zero-sum rather than positive-sum, and you have the making of an economic nationalist.
Public Education Vs. Public Schooling
The primary difference between public education and public schooling is that the former is openly accessible and self-directed, while the latter is compulsory and coercive. Both are community-based and taxpayer-funded; both can lead to an educated citizenry. But public education–like public libraries, public museums, public parks, community centers, and so on—can support the education efforts of individuals, families, and local organizations with potentially better outcomes than the static system of mass schooling.
I Do Not Want a “Well Behaved” Child
“Whoever wrote this and did the research is confused and did not define terms accurately. I spanked, not hit, all nine of my children and they do not hit. Never have. My grown children are well adjusted, well behaved, loving kids. I receive positive compliments about them often. Spanking is quite misunderstood.”

Given the profundity of their differences, how could you devise rules that would separate two uniquely born creatures for purposes of making one a master and the other a slave? How do you decide that the person with the redder skin must forfeit land to the person with less red skin? Color itself, if not infinitely variable, has as many possibilities as there are living individuals on the Earth.
Hypocritical Bullshit That Lacks Perspective
I think it is highly problematic to allow hypocrites and intellectual frauds to capture the perception of moral authority over such minutia while they ignored hundreds of thousands of deaths and the other tragedies caused by government in the recent past.
A Dynamic Agreement
The motto in the graphic, when two words are changed, makes a good approximation for Voluntaryism — “voluntaryism” is the new subject, and substitute “anyone” for “someone.”
The Failure of Western Institutions
I find the roots of liberty and individualism to be borne from an incredible accident, from the failure of institutions of the West. This runs radically contrary to the narrative portrayed by many conservatives and the alt-right.
Become What You Are
Existential development requires you to move beyond physical needs and mental concepts. In that space, you begin to identify yourself as what you are before motion and value judgment. Holding onto this state, even as the world turns on its own axis all around you, is how you mature from your childish beginnings to the potential adult that was always within you.
Shatter the Flow of Your Unfulfilled Life
It is impossible to know what you are capable of when the most important aspects of your life have been derived from people who came long before you or happen to hold greater influence.
