The foregoing considerations are only a few of the many that weigh against the initiation and continuation of a trade war. Trump says such wars are easy to win. In this regard, he apparently doesn’t even understand what winning means.

No matter your excuse, if you propose, pass, or enforce anti-gun “laws”, YOU are a BAD GUY. YOU are as bad as the evil losers who shoot up crowds of (“legally”) disarmed victims. You can try to veil your evil acts in all the glowing lies you want. It’s still nothing but lies.
A Proposal: Cut the Court
President Trump should announce that he is holding off on appointing a successor for Kennedy and asking Congress to reduce the size of the Court to seven justices, effective with the NEXT retirement. If Congress complies, that next retirement will likely be Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who is 85 and holding on for dear life rather than allow her successor to be chosen by a Republican president.
Smokey Bear: Enemy Agent
Smokey Bear and his propaganda campaign illustrate the danger of government perfectly. Use a memorable way to promote bad policy. The bad policy then causes damage which makes the original problem worse, which causes people to believe government (and its bad policy) is necessary to protect from the consequences of government policy.
Holy Pole Quilt, or Else!
A guy who lives across the street from my parents assumed I would be on his side. A new convenience store/truck stop in the area apparently doesn’t fly Holy Pole Quilt. This offends the man.
Americans Don’t Need Another War
Military aggression isn’t a good thing; it’s never healthy for the people of either country — not for the aggressors nor for the defenders trying to defeat the invaders. Yet people fall for the propaganda. They always have.
System-Bound III
I was thinking, a few weeks ago, as I was approaching Chicago from Northern Indiana, a jumble of converging and diverging routes, that the last thing I needed was some electronic message carrying ironic propaganda — it was all I could do to keep from making the wrong turn. I needed focus, not entertainment.
Ice Cream Shops, Saturday Night, and Peace
It’s a radical experience in human history for people to have the financial means and the freedom to go out to see a movie, to take the children out for an ice cream, to walk through a welcoming, light-strewn outdoor mall. But that’s what a Saturday night in Atlantic Station is for all of these people. It’s more impressive when I consider that some of these people from minority cultures are likely immigrants. This Saturday night may have been someone’s first night around all of this extravagance.
The Philosophical Toolbox
I’m not saying that philosophy as a whole is without contradiction, however through years of weeding through different philosophies and theories I was able to find what works best for me. A collection of tools with which anyone can use to truly test whether an idea, concept, law, or edict is just, fair, and equitable. In no particular order I’d like to present a few of the tools I use use when trying to make a consistent, rational, and logical judgement or claim.
