I’m finding that many moderates, libertarians and independents have lost perspective on left/right cultural dynamics. I think, sometimes, their desire to not take sides (good for them), has made them equate both sides to being equal in effect and harm.

Blaming the Victim, or Digging for Wisdom?
As a man dedicated to stopping the widespread abuse of children, I am very much an ally in this particular fight (“Me too.”). I don’t deserve to be attacked like this. These people don’t know me and the work that I do. They don’t know the trauma I’ve suffered and its long-term effects, effects that I deal with every day of my life. They were wrong to do what they did, but they are not alone in carrying responsibility.
Wake Up to the Fact of Your Own Agency
It starts with self-honesty. “My parents won’t let me do this, so I can’t” is a lie. The truth may be something like, “I want to do this but I’m unwilling to unless my parents keep funding my life.” The sooner you can admit to yourself what you’re really going after, the better.
Hillary Clinton: Cold Creepiness with a Side of Corruption
Was Clinton’s latest lunge at Assange and WikiLeaks a preemptive strike? An attempt, perhaps, to get ahead of extreme ugliness in the coming news cycle?
Borders and Neighbors
I’m sure, for natural reasons, that these birds do flock together. But there are no hard-and-fast boundaries. If we were to inspect the demographics, we’d probably find many Orthodox families grouped in distinct clusters. We’d also find some areas where Orthodox and Gentile intermingle to some degree.
Is Mass Schooling Behind The Anxiety Epidemic Among Teens?
While the Times article describes various tactics schools and therapists use to address mounting teenage anxiety and depression, one question not asked is this: If schooling is causing these serious problems for teenagers, then why are they going?
The World Doesn’t Pay You Enough to be Nasty
There’s a reason why we like to get nasty. It’s a lot easier to start a fight than it is to take charge of your life when things seem out of control. Our desire to manipulate others often stems from the need to compensate for our own inability to feel a sense of agency in relation to our goals. We enjoy pulling other people’s strings because those are usually the only strings we know how to pull.
Socialistic Theocratic Statism
All statism is socialism. The only disagreement among the socialists is how to impose socialism on each other, and on the few of us who aren’t socialists.
Putting Grit in The Clockworks
Scott Adams almost gets it, but just misses the mark right where you’d expect. Right where “pragmatism” excuses violating people.
Cowardice is Not a Virtue
First and foremost, pushing a “legislative” solution always amounts to condoning a violent solution. “Laws” are not polite suggestions; they are threats of force. “Gun control,” while usually framed in vague, euphemistic terms by its proponents, is gun violence. It is politicians threatening to send men with guns after any mere peasant who possesses something that the masters say they are not allowed to possess.
