Everything eventually comes to an end, and Social Security won’t be the single historical exception to that cold hard fact of reality. The big question is whether it winds down in the least damaging way or catastrophically implodes (cue images of the elderly living on cat food and so forth).

FinCEN Form 114—I’m Not the Criminal Here
You don’t need a Ph.D. in political science to realize what’s going on here. The Treasury is trying to track money related to drug trafficking, tax evasion, and other U.S. “crimes.” But its way of doing so is to impose a requirement on everyone with a foreign account willy-nilly—and that includes yours truly—and to threaten punishment of anyone who fails to cough up the required information.
Ignorance Leads to Archation by “Law”
In general, the more knowledgeable you are about a given topic, the more you will see the “laws” written concerning that topic as harmful nonsense. In fact, I think that is how you can tell someone knows a particular subject really well, as opposed to faking it.
California Secession: A Good Start
On April 23, California Secretary of State Alex Padilla approved language for a 2020 ballot proposal submitted by the Yes California Independence Campaign. The proposal will — assuming the campaign can collect and submit signatures from 365,880 registered voters by October — kick off a process already widely known as “Calexit” (after the United Kingdom’s “Brexit” from the European Union).

Americans Don’t Need Another War
Military aggression isn’t a good thing; it’s never healthy for the people of either country — not for the aggressors nor for the defenders trying to defeat the invaders. Yet people fall for the propaganda. They always have.
No Clue
I heard a Federal Government bureaucrat/spokesperson on the radio on my way to work this morning. An amount of hot air was gushed that would make a political hack blush. The bureau in question was the Department for Homeland Security (you know, the wholly fictitious entity which was created by the equally fictitious War on Terror).
People of Color, Benefits of Wealth, & the Ruling Class (34m) – Editor’s Break 079
Editor’s Break 079 has Skyler giving his commentary on the following topics: libertarianism and “people of color”; the benefits of being wealthy and how this either benefits or harms others; the essence of the ruling class; and more.
The Great War Against Liberty
Benjamin Franklin once said, “There never was a good war, or a bad peace,” but he could just as accurately have noted that there never was a good state… Because every state will always be at war with anyone who desires freedom, liberty, and independence.
An Atelatheist Exposes the Religion of Statism
Yes, belief in the State results in buildings being built, people molested due to “laws”, and other physical effects in the real world, but those are no more proof of the existence of the State than churches, inquisitions, martyrs, or charities are proof of the existence of God. People who believe something do things based on that belief. Such is the nature of belief. Beliefs have effects on the behavior of people who believe, even when the belief is in something imaginary.
