I’d been solidly libertarian for many years the first time I gave thought to “intellectual property” (copyrights and patents) at all. Someone mentioned the protection of property, including intellectual property, as the root of prosperity and freedom. I agreed without hesitation. It just seemed to make sense.

The Challenge to Decentralist Ideology
A large contingency of people consider the state/government to be the enforcer and protectorate of a society’s values. This might be the largest obstacle decentralists (like myself) have in espousing and explaining a decentralist ideology and sentiment.
Why Free Immigration Is the Moderate, Common-Sense Position
Far from being utopian, saying “Immigration is a human right” is just the moderate, common-sense position that when natives and foreigners voluntarily interact, strangers are morally obliged to leave them alone unless the overall consequences are clearly awful. Anarcho-Capitalism and Economic Development
Anarcho-capitalism is not a utopian vision, but the natural future of a world that is increasingly ungovernable due to its ever-increasing economic mobility, social complexity, and entrepreneurial emancipation.

This factor is the desire to create a system by which non-producers (those who consume more than they produce) can survive in relative comfort.
Thanksgiving Was a Triumph of Capitalism over Collectivism
This time of the year, whether in good economic times or bad, is when we gather with our family and friends and enjoy a Thanksgiving meal together. It marks a remembrance of those early Pilgrim Fathers who crossed the uncharted ocean from Europe to make a new start in Plymouth, Massachusetts. What is less appreciated is that Thanksgiving also is a celebration of the birth of free enterprise in America.
The State Has Too Much Power
The state has too much power. I know this is an oft stated platitude spewed out by both the Left and the Right whenever it suits their ends, but it’s true. And this election proves it.
Re: On Illegal Immigration
I got into an interesting “debate” on the EVC Facebook page after sharing this Two Cents post on illegal immigration. I reproduce it below. You’ll see how difficult it is for people to produce facts proving jurisdiction, the applicability of state law, so much so that the challenge was turned around on me and I…
