Quit Bitching about “Price Gouging”

September 11, 2017 Larken Rose

Which of the following is morally and economically preferable?

Most Dangerous Superstition

Must Be Absolute

September 11, 2017 Perry E.

We can have cheap prices for a scarce commodity and its sudden disappearance as everyone uses it up, or we can have higher prices that make it available to those willing to pay for it. There is nothing in between.

Alternatives to Forced Participation

Job Description

September 11, 2017September 11, 2017 Kilgore Forelle

If you were the top political adviser to a politician, how much sense would it make to say that the advice-recipient made the worst political mistake in modern history?

Nobody Asked, But

Arbitrary Rules are Harmful

September 11, 2017September 11, 2017 Kent McManigal

Stay in the habit of evaluating each and every rule you encounter. Follow or reject them based on reality, not on whether someone decided to make them up and impose them on others.

You Can’t Have It Both Ways, Constitutionalists

September 10, 2017September 10, 2017 Kent McManigal

It doesn’t matter if they try to govern others with socialism, communism, republicanism, democracy, theocracy, or some other version of statism. Governing others is always a violation of Rightful Liberty.

Humanity Needs Love and Understanding

September 9, 2017 Larken Rose

It is not enough to have good intentions, or to “love thy neighbor.” People need to actually understand what is going on, and realize that being a moral, caring human being is completely antithetical to condoning any flavor of “government” or political “authority.”

Most Dangerous Superstition

Words Poorly Used #103 — Charity

September 9, 2017September 9, 2017 Kilgore Forelle

It is frustrating trying to assist charities.  Like all organizations, they have pockets of management dysfunction, pockets of people problems.  This is also the reason why big government bureaucracies have so many fail points, many egregious fail points.

Words Poorly Used

First, They Ignore You

September 8, 2017 Larken Rose

Plenty of anarchists have noticed that the media, the politicians, even the Orange Fuhrer himself, have been mischaracterizing, demonizing and condemning “anarchists.”

Most Dangerous Superstition

Disagreeable Me

September 8, 2017September 8, 2017 Kent McManigal

I don’t go out of my way to find things to disagree with. I even try to avoid situations where people will be parroting things I’ll disagree with. I want to get along with people, even if I’m not good at “going along to get along.”

Incentives, not Motives or Training

September 8, 2017September 8, 2017 Isaac Morehouse

I saw an infuriating video of police arresting a nurse who refused to draw a patients blood at their request. Comments on Twitter included a lot of, “Why are police so nasty and brutish?”, and most responses were, “They need better training and to be nicer.” Nope.
