“Red Flag Laws”: Rights Can’t be “Suspended,” Only Violated

Hanna Scott of Seattle’s KIRO radio reports that prosecutors in Washington are wrestling with the question of whether or not the state’s “Red Flag law” applies to minors, and trying to stretch it to do so. Under the “law,” Scott writes, a judge can issue an “Extreme Risk Protection Order” to “temporarily suspend a person’s gun rights, even if they haven’t committed a crime.”

On November 8, Pennsylvania attorney general Josh Shapiro’s office issued a subpoena to web host and domain registrar Epik, “pursuant to “an ongoing civil investigation.” The subpoena demands “any and all documents which are related in any way to Gab.” The only plausible purpose of this subpoena is to intimidate those who might provide microphones to speakers Josh Shapiro doesn’t want the rest of us to hear.

Racist “Libertarian” Nationalists

A Facebook group I was recently added to, with “libertarian” in the name, seems to mostly be a hangout for “white supremacists/nationalists” who want to pretend their stance is somehow “libertarian“. One recent post in the group claimed that since “94% of libertarians” are “white”, a libertarian best serves his/her own interests by making sure to only do business with “white-owned” businesses.
