If I may step out of my voluntaryist shoes for a moment, for the sake of thought experiment, I’d like to propose the following change to elections in the United States and elsewhere: Non-voters are counted as a vote of “no confidence,” in which a majority of such votes would reset the particular race to be re-cast 12 months later.

No Right to Complain?
I’m sure you heard the retort, “If you don’t vote, you have not right to complain!” It’s especially common to hear after election days. Of course it’s complete and utter bullshit. I read somewhere today this parody of it, “If you don’t vote for an oppressor, you have no right to complain about your oppression!” I…
Choosing Our Cage
I shared the video of the honey badger that keeps finding his freedom again and again with the title “Be the Honey Badger” and here I sit bitching and moaning about the cage I find myself in, possessing real means of escaping.
Circular Arguments are Valid Because They are So Simple

Pat Farenga Reviews Unschooling Dads
John Holt’s successor and homeschooling/unschooling advocate Pat Farenga reviews my book, Unschooling Dads: This collection of first-person accounts by new and experienced dads who unschool their children is a welcome addition to the discussion about living and learning with your children instead of sending them to school: Why would any father not force their kids…
Pam Laricchia Reviews Unschooling Dads
Senior unschooling mom Pam Laricchia reviewed my latest book, Unschooling Dads is an engaging peek into what unschooling looks like from the dad’s perspective. It’s one we don’t often hear about, though they are active participants in many unschooling families. I really appreciate Skyler taking the time to seek them out and bring their insights…
