When Your Resources or Not Really Yours

In a response to a Mises Scholars Google group post on intellectual property, I wrote:

One moment I may configure my resources in any pattern of my choosing. The next moment (after you file at the patent office), I may only configure my resources in any pattern of my choosing, minus one. Just like that, I may no longer configure my resources in any pattern of my choosing, and if I do, I’ll be kidnapped and imprisoned, or killed if I choose to defend myself from said kidnapping and imprisonment, all because I had the gall to configure my resources in a pattern of my choosing. I guess they weren’t really my resources. Very strange.

Indeed.

Skyler.
