The Long and the Short

Nobody asked but …

I hate to be a grinch amid all this holiday cheer, but there is a hollowness to the self-congratulatory, back-slapping schmooze surrounding the tax package.

It’s a good time to revisit  Hazlitt’s Economics in One Lesson —

The art of economics consists in looking not merely at the immediate but at the longer effects of any act or policy; it consists in tracing the consequences of that policy not merely for one group but for all groups.

In other words, since taxes are theft, tax “cuts” are redistribution of theft, hidden by fraud.

Remember.  Don’t spend your tax windfall all in one place.
