The Desire for Purpose verse The Betterment of Others

I don’t give progressives, socialists and generally left-wing people the pass others often do. These people are rarely well-intentioned. I can only give this pass to very young or very naive people.

The emotional dynamics in the minds of these people lead them to seek purpose and validity in others, most often others that are popularly viewed as less fortunate. This might seem well intentioned enough, but there is a key to this that shows the difference and turns these people into manipulative, envious and violent thugs. You see. These people aren’t seeking for the betterment of others, they are seeking purpose and validity in their own mind and the minds of others. These are two radically different concepts.

The moment the betterment of others conflicts with their desire for purpose and validity, they will happily murder you rather than change their ideas. This is why the left favors statism, and leftist governments murder millions in their striving for utopia rather than a peaceful interaction and voluntary association. They seek narratives that resolve their inner anxiety, lack of purpose and low self-worth motivated by envy, insecurity, fear and they feel like it makes them a better person, a truly good and virtuous person. Then they will happily murder anyone who stands in their way.

The mentality of being in the left reminds me of the movie Momento. A guy who is seemingly nobly motivated to avenge the murder of his wife, and that is the only emotion that offers any purpose to him. The moment someone shows him that the killer has already been avenged, he changes the target of his ire and murderous desires to the man confronting him with reality and we learn that his seemingly noble cause was motivated by something vastly more nefarious.
