NSA-style Parenting

A watch that tracks your child’s every move? And just in time for the holidays! I suppose that some will view this technological advancement as a boon to concerned parents, but I can’t help but believe that there is nothing quite as dehumanizing as tracking an individual’s every move — at least until reading minds becomes possible. Human beings have the right to move around and pursue happiness without being monitored by an external entity, and that includes their parents. There is something very sinister about such a concept, and that trait is also present (at least to some degree) in those who support it. My advice to parents is to give your child as much freedom as possible and to avoid adopting the tactics of the NSA in your personal life. Your children will be happier, they will trust you more, and your relationships will be much stronger in the long run.
