Failing to Illicit Their Ire

I find it disheartening that some people resent and condemn the slow relinquishment of superstitious and puritanical prohibitions against voluntary pleasure, yet fail to acknowledge the blatant immorality and wanton destruction perpetrated by the state. How is it that the victimless actions of consenting adults cause some fussbudgets to decry the destruction of society, yet the war on drugs, civil asset forfeiture, and bombing civilians in a dozen countries around the globe fail to elicit their ire?

Alas, I must conclude that for many people, morality has nothing whatsoever to do with the well-being of individuals and everything to do with coercively imposing their opinions and preferences on others.
