Words Poorly Used #128 — Due Process

I want to rush this one onto the web before POTUS infects too many people.  He has complained that the two White House staffers who resigned over allegations of sexual misconduct did not get “due process.”

Due process only applies to taking by the state of life, liberty, and property involuntarily.  If the individuals voluntarily resigned, and if POTUS voluntarily accepted those resignations, then it is too early for due process.

If the state decides to prosecute, then due process will come into play.  If the accusers decide to press formal charges, then due process will apply.  If those with complaints pursue civil remedy, then due process will be observed.  Even if the accused file a complaint for defamation of character, then due process must apply.
