Statism: Undesirable, Unnecessary, and Avoidable

Is statism desirable? No, it is not. In fact, institutionalized and ideologically whitewashed aggression is the most undesirable thing that any sane person can think of.

Is statism necessary? No, it is not, since institutionalized and ideologically whitewashed aggression is the very opposite of its stated goal of securing social cooperation.

Is statism inevitable? No, it is not, since there is nothing inevitable about tolerating institutionalized and ideologically whitewashed aggression, just as there was nothing inevitable about tolerating slavery, serfdom, human sacrifice, and public torture.

Will statism persist nonetheless? It only depends on you and other people of good will, who can always jointly resolve to serve no more and successfully starve the beast. There are no necessary evils – there are only necessary efforts to defeat them.
