Save Us from the Voters

Nobody asked but …

Even worse than the if-you-don’t-vote crowd are the it’s-your-duty bunch.  And then you have the voting-should-be-compulsory mavens (and what a fine premise for the land of the free [irony alert]!)  Acknowledging that any state or local vote is irrelevent to countrywide representation, here is what you get:

— 1 vote every 4 years for POTUS,
— 1 vote every 2 years for HOROTUS, and
— 2 votes every 6 years for SOTUS.

That’s it!  As POTUS may say, “that’s a bad deal for us.”  People say that voters are ignorant.  The above calculus confirms that, but what kind of education would fix this stupidity?

Actually there are SOTUS elections every two years because not all of the seats are up for election during the same year. There are three classes or stages of SOTUS elections. There are either 33 or 34 seats up for election at a time every two years. For example the seats that were up for election in 2012 are up again for election in 2018. The seats that were up for election in 2014 will be up for election again in 2020 and those that were up for election in 2016 will be up for election again in 2022.

Btw, in every state there is a US Senate election every 4 years. It is set up so that if there was a US Senate race in a particular state say in 2012 that seat will be up for election in 2018 however the other SOTUS seat in that state was up for election in 2016 and it will be up for election again in 2022. If in a particular state there was a SOSTUS race in 2014 that seat will be up for election again in 2020 and the other seat which is up for election in 2018 will… Read more »
