Protest Should Not Interfere with Movement

The moment a person intentionally stops traffic and it is not an emergency scenario, they are detaining/kidnapping you and confiscating your property, at least for the time being.

I, obviously, believe in people’s right to protest. However, I have a large line at violence, controlling individuals movement, making threats and stopping traffic. The moment these actions are done, I support very strong measures to stop it. Often felonious behavior is overlooked in protests, and I think this is unfortunate. There are real victims to these offenses, and the fact that it was done in a large group doesn’t make the offense less onerous.

In the society I would like to live in, security wouldn’t be run by what we know as the police today and justice wouldn’t be ran by the current court system. However, the market equivalent for these services would not allow it and would take what necessary measures were needed to stop it.

It infuriates me seeing people detain others going to work or stopping the movement of peaceful individuals trying to live their lives. The right to protest doesn’t give you the right to limit or stop the movement of another peaceful individual or to inflect other kinds of violence onto them. I don’t support laws advocating running them over, unless they feel an imminent threat. However, I hold no pity for these people and would advocate private security forces escalating to whatever degree is needed to end it.
