Politics is Not the Solution

In case anyone wonders why I’ve gotten out of politics, here’s an example: Larry Sharpe, who some hope to see nominated as a presidential candidate, recently said, “Our party’s goals must be to grow and get our candidates elected and not to search for truth or to speak our mind…”

Do you see the problem with this? His comment was in response to Arvin Vohra‘s remarks about the military and the less than noble motivations which might induce someone to join.

Politics is not the solution. It’s literally the opposite of the solution—it’s the problem. Growing a political party and winning elections does indeed come at a cost, and I’m not willing to give up seeking or speaking truth in order to participate in a system which was explicitly created to suppress and enslave mankind.
