On the Law

I came to the realization that “law” was not synonymous with “the law” a few years ago. More recently, however, I came to the realization that “the law” should always be held in contempt. Why? A few reasons: 1) because “the law” is necessarily decreed by a ruler or group of rulers, who are always illegitimate usurpers of power; 2) “the law” is always enforced by those paid for with stolen resources, ie. taxation; and 3) “the law” often prohibits legitimate, peaceful activities. As can be seen, “the law” is always a mechanism for creating injustice, and can never create peace, harmony, and prosperity for everyone in society. And that’s today’s two cents.

Skyler.
