On Deity

I don’t know if there are any beings in the universe that should be considered “supreme” by virtue of either their nature or their accomplishments, but it seems obvious to me that supreme beings are nowhere to be found on this world. Of the many thousands of versions of deity that exist, they all seem to have this in common: they aren’t coercing people to obey them. Of course, non-deity (people) are using certain ideas involving deity to coerce obedience, but that’s clearly a different thing. No deity is here coercing obedience, which means that if any deity exists, they are, for the time being, voluntaristic. And that’s today’s two cents.

Skyler.
