How We Move Forward

Writes Free Your Kids:

How do we effect positive change? How do we free our kids? How do we free ourselves?

We start at home. We start by raising our children in the kindest, most peaceful way possible. We teach them to follow the Non-Aggression Principle. We show them that violence is not an acceptable way to solve problems. They see through our actions that mercy, compassion, and cooperation will do more to improve our world than any law or any politician.

We start with ourselves. We live the ideals we espouse. We prove to others through our example that living in peace with one another is the most appropriate way for humans to interact.

We may never see a purely voluntary society in our lifetimes. There is much work to be done. The path is littered with those who believe that might makes right, that being bigger makes them the boss, and that the use of force can create a virtuous world.

Perhaps our children may someday see such a society. Or their children. Or their children’s children. We plant the seeds, yet may never see the harvest. We set them free so that, someday, they can achieve the world we never could. A world where people are truly free. A world where people help one another because it’s the right thing to do. A world where no one feels intimidated, frightened, or bullied. A world where love does not equal violence.

Maybe they can create this world. This is how we move forward.

Indeed.
