Control and Exploit a Population

In which of the following two scenarios is it more likely for a violent gang to successfully subjugate, control and exploit a population on an ongoing basis?

1) In a situation where the gang is viewed by the people as “authority,” so that even most of the victims of the gang imagine the gang to have the moral right to control and extort them.

2) In a situation where the gang is viewed by the people as a bunch of immoral aggressors, with no right to do what they do, so that the moment its intended victims have the chance to disobey or resist, they would feel no qualms about doing so.

I trust no one with a brain will find difficulty in choosing the correct answer. And yet many statists still make the absurd claim that, “If we didn’t have government, warlords would take over!”

Um…. Mr. and Mrs. Statist… warlords did take over, and called themselves “government,” and duped you into thinking that their thuggery is necessary and legitimate, and now you are defending their existence and making excuses for your own victimization (and everyone else’s). That is how warlords take over, and you are helping that happen.
