Cognitive Gap

Nobody asked but …

Today, while reading about cognitive psychology, I read a quote from Alfred Adler, “Man knows much more than he understands.”  We are receiving cognitive input at the speed of light and sound, from an infinite number of directions.  This jam of information, including filters that it must pass through, is constructive, or neutralizing, or destructive.  But we must have the time to cogitate before we can comprehend.  We will never catch up, however, to the widening difference between the net perceived and the net comprehended.  We are lucky to have the voluntaryist view by which to frame this onslaught.
